The Citrus Golf Club is one of three golf courses within the La Quinta Resort & Club Heritage Membership program. As the name suggests, the community was created within a vast grove of mature citrus trees. Designed in 1987 by Pete Dye, the Citrus course is considered by many as one of the most challenging courses in the valley. Over the years Citrus has played host to several major PGA and nationally televised golf events.
Citrus Club Amenities
The Citrus clubhouse was extensively updated during '08 and features an expansive new fitness facility that includes an outdoor lap pool. Citrus members also enjoy full access to the fitness center and tennis courts at nearby La Quinta Resort. There you can also enjoy 44 resort pools including three lap pools and the full service Spa La Quinta. Citrus members can also take advantage of discounted dining at the Resort’s three restaurants: Twenty6, Adobe Grill, and Morgan's of The Desert.
The new Citrus dining room and popular View Bar provide comfortable settings for members and their guests to enjoy dining, regularly-offered special events, or simply kick back and relax.
Real Estate Opportunities at Citrus
During the early-to-mid 1990's, the Citrus came to fruition with a handful of developers offering both attached and freestanding homes with spectacular fairway and mountain views. Real estate opportunities at The Citrus include semi-custom resale homes built by several local developers from the mid 90's through '09.
Citrus homes range from approximately 2,400 to over 8,000 square feet and are available both on and off the Citrus golf course in styles ranging from Santa Barbara to Contemporary. Citrus club membership (although not required for home owners) is available for golf and/or for social and fitness participation.
